We sat down with the People Team at Articulate, to hear why they decided to launch the Carbon Savings Account® (CSA) for their team. Articulate is a human-centered technology company that creates tools and training for people-first organizations. Their mission is to empower individuals and teams to thrive—and that commitment extends to both people and planet. In this conversation, they share how the CSA aligns with Articulate’s values, what they hope employees gain from the program, and why they believe it’s a meaningful step toward climate action.
We launched the Carbon Savings Account (CSA) to deepen our commitment to create impact in a way that’s personal, inclusive, and aligned with our values as a human-centered organization. This initiative reflects our aspiration to create an equitable, sustainable, and empowering workplace—one where employees are supported in making decisions that positively impact both their lives and the planet. It’s also a way to tangibly implement our People strategy by meeting employees where they are and helping them take climate-conscious action.
The CSA reinforces our goal of creating exceptional employee experiences while advancing our organizational commitment to make a positive impact in the world. As a People Team, we aim to be trusted partners offering innovative, human-centered solutions that align with our values. The CSA supports that by giving employees agency over their carbon footprint, reinforcing that we are all responsible for ourselves and accountable to one another, and that the choices we make together can drive meaningful change.
We hope employees walk away feeling empowered to make climate-positive choices, and more deeply connected to our shared purpose. The CSA is an invitation to participate in something bigger than ourselves because we are all connected, and the small steps we take as individuals ripple outward across teams, communities, and society. We also want this program to reflect our belief that we are all works-in-progress and every action, no matter how small, is a step toward growth, impact, and collective well-being.
We see the CSA as a tool in our toolkit that contributes to reinforcing our values and enhancing our employee experience. It’s not just about emissions reductions, it's about demonstrating that all of us, as individuals, can take steps to make a positive impact in the world. By integrating this impact into our employee offerings, we’re reinforcing our belief that the work we do, and how we show up, matters. The CSA helps us live out our purpose to be the brightest corner of the universe, where people feel empowered, valued, and safe to take action on the things that matter most.
